When he attempted to cross the intersection at Fell and Stanyon Streets, he was struct by a truck. He was taken to the emergency room of San Francisco General Hospital, which also happened to be the hospital where he worked as a nurse. He was pronounce dead as soon as he arrived at the hospital. The cause of death as a tramautic head injuury, but it is not known whether or not he was wearing a helmet.
